If I could give half a score I would. Poor customer service, poor financial planning advice. Very antiquated systems , everything must be filled in manually and posted. Difficult to withdraw money Staff have limited knowledge. The website is difficult to navigate The member portal is useless, you cannot easily see the performance of your investments or get monthly updates. I’ve seen all the other negative reviews and have tried to make complaints to Hostplus, which must be posted, they never call back. And yet with all this when I did manage to speak to someone they were dumbfounded when I said I wasn’t happy with Hostplus, they laughed and said all our members love us. Clearly they do not read all the reviews posted and really understand that they have a communication problem. Also considering half the members would be female the board has little female presence. I really regret transferring across. I also lost all my TPD and Death benefits which they would not carry over because of my age. None of this explained.

Hostplus once again you are a disgrace. I have been paying income protection for over 20 years and when i called you guys asking for a form to fill out like other superfunds have the reply was we don’t have any form but we will ring you within 3 business days. I have yet to recieve this phone call and i am wondering when they do call is this an over the phone process were they ask someone like me who is heavily medicated due to my injuries were i might answer something wrong so they can deny my claim. So why this process when i’m in need ? If there was just an honest process of just filling out an application with the guidance of my solicitor it would have been submitted by now instead of having to wait to talk to someone were in the past when i had a query and again they told me someone would ring me within 3 business day and i never recieved a phone call. I will keep everyone posted with the outcome. In the meantime who ever decides to take out income protection with this superfund i would tread with caution. Conclusion So I got my phone only to find that even if I did claim I would get $0 because when my injury happened 2.5 years ago when I was on Workcover payments which that amount was above the income protection amount meaning that even when my Workcover payments stop next month I have to go to Centrelink to survive. So that means I have paid thousands in income protection which I will never be able claim because of my serious injuries which more than likely I won’t be able to ever get back to any form of employment. So make your own judgment on this but I would not waste money if I knew how the income protection system works.

I’ve transferred over from Maritime Super which was fantastic. Hostplus website is difficult to manage through. I visited the office in William St today to have some money transferred over. I left thinking everything was OK, however, I received a call about an hour after asking for more information to be sent by email. I requested an email and was assured that she would send it immediately. This wasn’t done. Pretty poor effort.

I tried to correct my name on my Superannuation account because they’d entered it incorrectly and they asked me to post my ACTUAL birth certificate interstate (I live in Melbourne) to NSW which doesn’t bode well with me. Why can’t it be a copy? So, I haven’t fixed my name and am hoping that I won’t incur problems as a result.

So I’ve been reading through other reviews and you guys don’t want to give me MY money and have useless service. Then go on about your stupid legislations that make absolutely no sense. Then I tell you I’m changing super and you sent me forms to roll it over into the new one. Had I done that before reading reviews I’d still be stuffed around. Onlime chat bot isn’t helpful and neither is the customer service hostplus provides helpful. How’s about this considering digitally these days you can verify someone to give them the funds how’s about instead of me being unemployed for 26weeks and basically homeless you give me my money it’s that simple. Your organisation has No right to withhold what’s legally mine amd I worked hard for. We live in a world now where prices are sky-rocketing and you couldn’t care less about withholding money Australian workers worked hard for. Quite sad of your organisation to be very honest. You would rather watch people struggle then help
