Experiences

Had lunch here for the first time. Great spot with the great views watching the Ferries, Boats and Cruise come by. I ordered a steak medium rare however it came out medium well. Spoke to the friendly waitress and she was so accommodating! Got us a new steak medium rare in no time! That to me is when a business cares about their customers! Would highly recommend.

Whalebridge provided a mixed experience. While the food was generally well-executed and delicious, the chicken dish was unfortunately a bit dry. However, the biggest letdown was the service. It took a considerable amount of time, around 20-30 minutes, for our champagne orders to be fulfilled, and we had to inquire multiple times about their status. To compound matters, our red wine arrived very late, almost at the end of our main course. Despite these shortcomings, the location was spectacular, with views of the iconic Sydney Harbour, including the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, adding to the overall ambiance of the dining experience.

Decent restaurant in Circular Quay The food was pretty tasty. The tiger prawns were fresh, and all the mains were great. The steak was tender & juicy, the roasted chicken was a little dry but nicely seasoned, the steamed cod had great flavours & the gnocchi were soft and creamy (and they were generous with mushrooms). We finished off our meal with the cheesecake & the tarte au citron, and both were good (we preferred the cheesecake though!) However, service was mediocre. They asked my friends for their ID after they already got their drinks, which was a little odd. We also had issues with the seating duration: we went there during Australia Day and wanted to stay until the fireworks; but, because we came at 7pm, they wanted us to free the table by 9pm. When we explained them that we wanted to see the fireworks & that the reservation didn’t indicate a strict 2hrs seating time, they told us that “usually restaurants have a 2hrs seating time”. We’ve been to many restaurants which do not enforce this policy, and found the comment and the waitress attitude a little rude. Thankfully, they let us stay until the fireworks, but the situation could have been handled more gracefully & nicely. Overall, we still had a great time and were really happy with the restaurant’s location and view of the harbour 🙂
