Experiences
Fantastic tasting food with great service. The chicken was incredibly tender and the jaffles were full of flavour. The only one little thing I didn’t like was the mains came out while we were still eating the first course. Oh, and the food wasn’t overly hot, temperature wise. Apart from that, it was awesome

This is undeniably one of the best Asian restaurants in Melbourne CBD, in terms of food, drinks, and also atmosphere. All the dishes are very high quality, each with their own unique taste. I’d say the mixed roast platter is a must get for every visit, as well as the salted egg yolk dishes on the menu. The price for all their dishes are very fair as well. There are multiple different bookings you can make for this place too. Whether you want to sit in open space, semi private, or a separate dining space, they will be able to accommodate for you. Highly highly recommend this place if you’ve yet to try it out.

Would say one of our most favourite dining places in cbd. The food is fresh, and every time we dine, it never disappoints. Alternatively, even just for a night out for drinks, this place serves nice cocktails, too.

Finally had the chance to visit Tian 38 after so long, and I was excited about it. However, the Chinese New Year eve experience turned out to be a mixed bag. We had booked a table for 8:30 pm, but upon arrival, we were told about an overrun, I was expecting a 20-minute wait but disappointingly, we were seated at 10 pm. (which was supposed to be their closing time). Not the smoothest start, especially when we had our table locked in beforehand. Plus, the Lunar New Year menu we wanted to try was out of stock. Major disappointment. These pointed to a serious understaffing or management issue that needs addressing. At least we did get to enjoy the “Yee Sang” from the Lunar New Year menu. Shoutout to the staff who arranged a nice table for us. We were the last customers, and the service remained courteous and attentive. Food were great– portions were generous. Left the place with satisfied stomachs, compensated for the delayed start. Despite the hiccups, the combination of great food and warm service made for a memorable Chinese New Year celebration!

Nice Singapore restaurant with great food and atmosphere. The Hainan chicken rice is very good. They use free-range chicken, and the dish comes with generous ginger paste and lime chilli. We also ordered a serve of juicy xiaolongbao, tender steamed barramundi with soy and ginger and vegetarian fried rice. The service could be improved as our waitress was rather impatient.
