Member with Fedhealth for 15 years. I own a wedding venue. My issues with Fedhealth started when the goverment closed down wedding venues due to Covid restrictions I used my cash on hand to refund brides as we had to cancel their weddings… and I felt that this was the right thing to do? I could not pay my membership for 4 months while I battled to stay solvent after the refunds and paying staff etc. They then let me re join on a new membership number. Charged me a 25% “late joiner penalty” and I was was not allowed to claim for 1 year. As it turns out, as per the Medical aid control board, these penalties are “dicretionary” and Fedhealth thought that I needed/deserved to be penalized to the maximum extent. I carried on with my plan paying the extortion monies but kept asking for relief. After the last price increase, together with my late joiner penalty, the cost became prohibitive… During this period I motivated for relief as best I could. I supplied certificates of membership to medical aids prior to joining Fedhealth 15 years ago. I supplied motivations explaining the circumstances which lead to the missed payments… NOT ACCEPTED BY FEDHEALTH I bout 2 weeks ago, Ireceived a questionnaire asking me if I would reconsider and become a member again… and what could they do to regain my support. I completed the survey expressing my interest to re activate my member and I submitted it… AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I call in to follow and get sent from pillar to post… speak to a different person each time…. Consultants were largely unaware of the questionnaire as part of the companies business practice. Fedhealth… You guys should be ashamed at how you treat your “loyal” customers. Escalate to team leader who promises to call me back and never does… Called in again…. Surprise. Team leader “won’t talk to me”. So I have a other reference number and another promise of a call back…. And so the merry go round keeps on turning. I am keen to see if this message goes into a “black hole” somewhere… Maybe I receive the “follow up report” today… I think the best I can hope for is another “reference” number…

Fedhealth are expensive. They have a good plan. I appreciate that. However, the service is shocking- the admin is poor, late, the written correspondence spells names and basics incorrectly. You request a meeting with someone – you get it – discuss your issues – get NO feedback at all. I have resorted to writing in caps and still nothing. Its appalling – Its as if your queries go into a black hole. You are referred to the on line chat room to manage your problems as an excuse for terrible service by the client services people. Its horrible. I can only imagine how tricky if you have to deal with them when you are old or really sick.

I have been a member of Fedhealth for many years and have appreciated their service until now. I have been trying to reinstate my membership for weeks with no success. Then I wanted to stop the process and get another medical aid company, their sales brokers said I need to cancel with Fedhealth. But I haven’t received any documentation or anything, how do I cancel if I haven’t been successful in finalising this? And of course, when you call, you can’t speak to an actual Fedhealth consultant! Please fix this Fedhealth.

Fedhealth is the worst medical aid to join. The administration is extremely poor. I paid off my account and I am still getting debited to this day. Every month I call regarding the same issue. Last month they refunded me the extra money, yet a debit order went off again today. I don’t know if it’s incompetence or disregard of customers because I experienced the same lack of customer care when I had to pay for a doctor’s appointment out of pocket because they didn’t do the quality assurance needed on their system. Being a fedhealth member is a full time job I wouldn’t recommend. I’m happy paying the Discovery Health premium because they put their mouth where their money is.

I am so fed fedup at this moment with all this problems that I am experiencing with Fedhealth.First I was making a fool of myself and now I was informed that they made payment to optometrist but the optometrist says they never received payment.I also was told that the claims will be showing on my app but nothing is showing.This is the worst nightmare of experience that I am living at the moment and it’s deeply disappointing.Even when I try to chat on the App it’s just disconnected everytime. REALLY WORST AND DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE
