Experiences
Went for their Sip & Setto bottomless brunch on a Sunday afternoon at 3:15 PM. As the place wasn’t busy, we were seated easily. However, it took over 20 minutes for my friends to get their first round of cocktails. Food was decent and arrived faster than drinks. I particularly liked the grilled corn, chicken karaage, and the spicy tuna with chili crisp. Chili crisp was so good they should bottle this up to sell 🫶🏼. I would’ve appreciated a bit more urgency from some waiters as we’ve had to ask for our drinks quite a few times which was weird because the place wasn’t busy at all when we were there.

Despite the generally low reviews of Yakimono… I had a really good time! Friday night, about 4 of us. Seated promptly next to the kitchen – awesome vibes, and the first thing that hits you is the charcoal smell of food wafting throughout the entire restaurant. Prices were pretty fair for an upscale Melbourne diner, and portions were decent. Yes the music could be a little less loud but that’s part of the brand and atmosphere. Toilets were cool, as was the overall ambience in the main dining room. Standouts were the roast scallops. Waitresses was very nice and accommodating for a gluten free dining partner, marking all the dietaries on the menu.

I initially thought I was entering a night club! Great atmosphere with a twist of traditional and contemporary. They have a lunch Bento which looked great value but we ordered specific dishes for 3 people. Only one I missed taking a photo of was the spicy tuna sushi which was amazing! The BBQ prawn was a standout for me. Will be back for the next team event

We came for Cray Cray Returns and it was great. Each course was interesting and packed full of flavour and we were surprisingly full by the main course. Yakimono has an energetic hip vibe, staff are courteous, approachable and helpful. There’s a cosy relaxed atmosphere, with a variety of seating options from classic tables, booths and counter seats. Well definitely come back to sample their menu.

First and foremost what incredible architecture and design. A real feast for the eyes, terrific ambience and decor. I felt New York vibes dining here. Excellent service. We didn’t eat a lot as we were going to a concert but the food we ordered was luscious and flavoursome. Definitely loved the croquettes as a highlight. The cocktails were also nice. A bit steep… we only ordered appetisers and drinks and it was very pricey but still definitely would be back.
